We were visited by OFSTED on 4^th and 5^th March 2025 and are pleased to post the full report here. Three inspectors completed deep dives across several subject areas, as well as visiting tutor time and assemblies. They also held meetings with pupils, staff and representatives from our governing body and The Worcestershire Hills Trust, along with looking at samples of pupils’ work and our extra-curricular provision.

Since September 2024, schools no longer receive an overall judgement.  In the four categories inspected, Bredon Hill Academy was deemed ‘outstanding’ for behaviour and attitudes and personal development and ‘good’ for quality of education and leadership and management.

We are delighted that OFSTED identified that our curriculum is “ambitious and well sequenced, [taking into account] pupils’ prior learning and what pupils need to learn in the future.”

As a middle school, the only external assessments pupils take with us are their end of KS2 SATs. Pupils join our school in year six, two terms before sitting these tests. We therefore use validated GL assessments to ascertain the impact of our curriculum and the significant progress pupils make at Bredon Hill Academy in their three years with us.  More information is available here.

As a school community, we are thrilled that OFSTED recognised that pupils are at the heart of everything we do: “The school prides itself on the excellent relationships between pupils and staff,” and “the atmosphere throughout the school is exceptionally calm and purposeful.” OFSTED concluded the report by acknowledging that our school “helps pupils to be exceptionally well prepared for their next steps.”
